On his 32nd LP, Elvis Costello and The Attractions have put forth another gem in the ever-so-popular catalog of tunes. The Boy Named If, is a mid pandemic gut-punch record of catchy riffs and classic sounds that are reminiscent of the good old days. This is a true classic Costello offering. The drifty overtones leave one feeling free and content amid the craziness.
Well let me tell you, this record does not disappoint. It has everything one is looking for in a classic rock LP. Elvis' vocal performance is spot on and solid. His classic undertones are so familiar while accompanied by their classic keyboard sound.
This record spans over two heavyweight 180 gram LPs ( also available in cd format ). I am extremely impressed by the layout and the cover art of this gatefold. It's great to see the continued comeback of song lyrics and liner notes on the record sleeves.10/10 for effort on the packaging. What an LP should be. This is the template for the proper way to release a record. Elvis has certainly not let up with this new record. Bravo!
